The Fourth BHD Symposium 2012

The Fourth BHD Symposium will take place in Cincinnati, USA, on 28th – 30th March, 2012. We will be delighted to see as many people there as possible. The symposium will be held in the Vontz Center at the University of Cincinnati. As with previous symposia, the meeting will include sessions for both scientists and patients.

Invited speakers will include Dr W. Marston Linehan of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health, Professor George Thomas of the University of Cincinnati,  Professor Kuniaki Seyama of Juntendo University, Professor Arnim Pause of McGill University and Professor Dr Maurice van Steensel of the University Hospital Maastricht.

The symposium will start on the evening of 28th March and will end the evening of 30th March. Talks are scheduled for 29th and 30th and there will be a social dinner on the 29th.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstract submission is now open. Abstracts can be submitted here.

The instructions for abstract submission are as follows; please:

  1. Limit the abstract to 200 words or less
  2. Limit the title to 10 words or less, use all caps for the title
  3. Use a 10 point font
  4. Use single spacing
  5. Do not use underline (except in title), bold, or italics
  6. Abstract should start with a title, followed by the authors’ names (name of presenting author should be underlined) and authors’ affiliation
  7. Do not include any graphs, charts, or bullets; the abstract should be entirely in a narrative format
  8. Abstracts must be submitted via the electronic system on or before February 15, 2012.

Refunds • If you register and find you are not able to attend, you can request a full refund by calling 513-558-1810 or e-mailing event.services@uc.edu by March 19. No refunds will be processed after this date. Substitutions may be made at any time.

  

HOTELS

The conference will be held at the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies and the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center (151 Goodman Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45219). A block of rooms has been reserved at the Kingsgate at a special rate of $159 plus tax, single or double.

 TRAVEL

If you are driving, you can find directions to the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center here. If you are flying, transportation from the CVG Airport can be reserved through Executive Transportation for $20 one-way or $30 round trip. You may call (800-990-8841) 24 hours in advance to guarantee a reservation; walk-up service is also available in the baggage claim areas. Taxi service is approximately $27.

 

TRAVEL GRANTS

Travel grants are available. For researchers, apply for a travel grant using the form found here. A decision on travel grants will not be made until after the abstract deadline (15th February 2012). Maximum support per person is £1,000 GBP.

For patients and family members, apply for a travel grant using the same form (found here). A contribution will be made towards registration, travel and/or accommodation. Please make it clear when submitting the form that you are a patient or family member.
